The date for the Simnasho District Tribal Council Nominations has been set for December 17th. The Agency District Nominations are next week on December 12. The dates for district nominations are set by the chiefs. Tribal Council Elections are April 4.

SALEM, Ore. (AP) — Oregon recorded the second-highest number of votes cast in an election in the 2018 election in state history, eclipsed only by the 2016 presidential election, though the percent of registered voters who cast ballots was the lowest since 2002. The clashing numbers are due to the number of registered voters having shot upward through Oregon’s “motor voter” automatic voter registration.

BEND, Ore. (AP) — An Oregon proposal to expand alternative treatments for certain chronic pain conditions while limiting the use of opioids has moved forward with minimal changes, despite outcries from chronic pain patients and criticism from pain experts across the country. The Bulletin reports that the state’s Chronic Pain Task Force backed a proposal Wednesday to provide coverage for five chronic pain conditions currently not covered by the Oregon Health Plan.
