  • Warm Springs Christian Fellowship meets this morning at 10 at the Senior Center.
  • The Warm Springs Baptist Church has Sunday School at 10:00 and Worship Service at 11:00 this morning.
  • The Warm Springs Food Bank is located at the Presbyterian Church. They are open from 11:30-1:30 today following services.  All food banks and pantries do take donations of non-perishable food or cash
  • Today is the deadline to sign up for the Annual MAC Dash which is on September 14th at the Madras Aquatic Center. All proceeds from the event go to In-water programs for the MAC. There is also a Middle MAC Dash for kids 11-14 and a mini-MAC Dash for children 10 and under – both kids events are free but registration is still required. The Columbia River Zone 6 Commercial Salmon Gillnet Fishery will be open this Monday (9/9) 6am thru Thursday September 12th at 6pm.  Check in with your Tribal Fisheries Department if you have any questions.

Warm Springs Behavioral Health is having its “Wellbriety Celebrating Families” Class for parents starting this week.  The class is Tuesdays and Thursday from 9am until noon on the 3rd floor of the Behavior Health Center.  This class is open to clients enrolled in Behavioral Health, Best Care or Tuning Points.  If you are not currently enrolled in a program, contact Sarah Frank.  Classes are Tuesdays and Thursday.

9/11 The Meth & Opiate Work Group is meeting Wednesday from 9 until 11am at the Greeley Heights Community Building.  Everyone is welcome to bring your positive support and ideas in increasing awareness and education for our community about the dangers caused by meth and opiate use and finding ways to create pathways toward healing with hopes of making a better life for our present and our future generations.

OSU Extension is offering a Mini Session on “Stressing Less with Mindfulness” on Wednesday September 11th from 6-7pm in Redmond.  Learn how to give your brain a rest by practicing several mindful actions.  The class is free and will be held at the Deschutes County Fairground.  Learn more at https://extension.oregonstate.edu/deschutes/events/stress-less-mindfulness-mini-session.

3 Warriors Market in Simnasho has moved to their fall and winter hours.  Monday thru Thursday the are open 7am – 7pm.  Friday’s hours are 7am – 6pm.  On the weekend – 3 Warriors is open 8am – 6pm.

The Madras High School Girls Basketball Team is selling apples for a fundraiser.  You can pre-order apples for pick up on September 13th.  The Oregon grown apples are $25/box.  Order from coach Say or coach David.  Apples can be canned, used for baking or frozen.

Warm Springs Sanitation reminds residents to place your trash tote by the road or your cattle guard if you want it picked up on your scheduled day.  They will make accommodations for Senior Citizens.  To do that call (541) 553-4943.

There is Community Acupuncture on Wednesday in the Community Aerobics Room. Stop by anytime between 8 and 11:30am.

Heart of Oregon YouthBuild is recruiting youth ages 16-24 years for its Fall 2019 cohort starting October 14th. YouthBuild members earn their GED, high school diploma, college credit, and job skills. There is an education award awarded for participants. There is an information session this Thursday September12 in Sisters.
