  • Warm Springs Tribal Offices will remain closed today but the Warm Springs I.H.S. clinic is open regular hours.
  • The 43rd Annual Warm Springs Indian Holiday Bowling Tournament continues through tomorrow at Lava Lanes in Bend. Today has Mixed team, Doubles & Singles, Big Dog Challenge, Master’s Event and Senior Masters. They wrap up the Tourney tomorrow with a Youth Bowling Tourney for ages 4-18 open to all kids – and the Holiday Roll-Off. For More information you can call Austin at 541-553-1953.   • Due to cold temperatures this weekend the Warm Springs Warming Shelter will be open tonight at 6pm and will remain open all weekend until Monday at 8am.

Saturday 11/30

At the HeHe Longhouse tomorrow, there will be a name giving ceremony for Lenora Kim Starr and Tyree Lindy Starr starting at 10am. Family and Friends are welcome and Drummers are requested. Meal will follow the ceremony.

The Project Zero challenge starts next Wednesday December 4th in an effort to help you maintain and not gain weight over the holidays.   Weigh-ins are next Wednesday at the Community Center from 8-11:30 and 1-4:30 at the Health & Wellness Center. There is going to be a Timber Committee Meeting held on Thursday December 12th and it will be the last scheduled meeting for this year. This is a public notice if any community members have permits they need renewed, reissued, or any concerns they would like to present to the Timber committee. Warm Springs Recreation is holding their Annual Christmas Bazaar on Saturday December 14th starting at 10am! Everyone is welcome to attend. Find beautifully hand crafted gifts, delicious baked goods, fry bread and more at the Warm Springs Community Center. Vendors can set up starting at 8am. Now is the time for students planning to attend college or technical school next fall to start completing the requirements for the Tribal Scholarship.  That includes doing a FAFSA for financial assistance. Details are now available at KWSO.org – click on the slide that says Tribal Scholarship.

Become a SMART Reader.  SMART stands for “start making a reader today” and is a volunteer program that pairs readers with 1st grade students in Warm Springs.  On Thursdays from 4-5pm they get together at the Warm Springs K-8 Academy afterschool 21st Century Learning Program.  If you are interested – call 541-797-7726.

If you have unused or expired medications you need to get rid of, the Warm Springs Health & Wellness Center now has a MedSafe drop box to dispose of old meds. Bring them to large blue box located in the pharmacy waiting area to safely dispose of unneeded medications.
